Abstract

The purpose of this study was identifying and prioritizing of barriers of achievement medal in wrestling in Iran unsuccessful provinces based on perspective of experts of this field. Using purposive and incidental sampling 110 people such as managers of wrestling federation and provincial delegations (25 persons), academic experts (15 persons), Coaches of grade І (30 persons) and elite wrestlers in national level (40 persons) were selected as sample. The instrument used in this research was a self-made questionnaire included 37 questions and 8 subscales that its face, content and construct validity was approved. Also its reliability was measured 0.89 by Cronbach's alpha. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods (Friedman test and exploratory factor analysis) was used for data analysis. All of statistical calculations were done through SPSS18 software. Results showed that cultural, geographic, and of media barriers, financial issues, management and planning, infrastructure, facilities, holding competitions and camps, training and technology issues, human resources and discovery and development of talent, respectively were most important barriers of achievement medal in wrestling in Iran unsuccessful provinces. With regarding to importance of these factors in wrestling development, it is recommended to the country sport responsibilities through providing appropriate programs and with resolving existing problems try to provide conditions for wrestlers of these provinces to get medals in important Olympic Games.
