Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Coaches Base of Power and player's Sport Commitment among Female Handball Players of pro League in Iran. The study is based on the descriptive correlation survey. The population of this study is constituted the entire Female Handball Players of pro League in Iran. According to Morgan sample size, 108 players were the participants. For data collection purposes, Demographic Questionnaire, Power in sport Questionnaire-Other (PSQ-O), and Sport Commitment Questionnaire were used. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (K-S, correlation, and multiple regressions). Results show a significant relationship between the five-part Coaches’ Base of Power and the players’ Sport Commitment (p<0.05). As well, partial coefficient correlation showed that the moderating variables of age and background influence greatly on the relationship between Coaches’ Base of Power and the players’ Sport Commitment(p<0.05). Finally, regression analysis showed that the players’ perception of Coaches’ Base of Power accounts for more than 27 percent of the sport commitment variance.
