Abstract

The purpose of this research was designing a model for Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) development in Iran based on three main aspects: "Revive", "Promotion" and "Development". Research method was descriptive - analytic which has done by survey. The statistical sample of this study consisted of 2983 specialists working in sport for all and rural sport boards, faculty members of physical education, and the specialists working in organizations and universities throughout the country. A researcher made questionnaire was designed for this study with approved validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, EFA, CFA and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results showed that the variables: Revive, Promotion, and Development had significant impact together in model structure. Also, Revive and Development had significant impact on "Current Situation" (CS). CS had significant impact on Development Effects of TSG too. So it is supposed that in case of good implementation of elements of Revive and Development, indicators of CS like "inappropriateness of development", "lack of events", and "excessive emphasis on professional sport" will approach to desirable situation. Also, CS significantly will cause appearing good results in development of TSG. All stages of TSG development model are placed in an environment consisted of 8 factors which influencing the model.
