Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of providing a model for the promotion of voluntary work in sports with a social capital approach. This research was philosophical, interpretive, and exploratory in nature, using a qualitative research method and a classic or Glaser grounded theory approach. The research population consisted of experts in the field of volunteering and sociology in sports. The data collection method in this research was interviews. In this study, 13 experts and experienced teachers in this field were interviewed using purposive sampling method. The reliability of the data was ensured through systematic grounded theory data analysis methods and formal and content-based considerations. The credibility and transferability criteria were confirmed through complete saturation of the data, presentation of the data by key informants, ongoing participation of research participants, along with necessary adjustments, evaluations, and confirmations throughout the research. The confirmability criterion was also ensured through accuracy in sample selection, combining data collection methods including semi-structured interviews and note-taking, presenting evidence and findings to experts, and using technical, field, and avoiding bias notes during the research. The findings showed that citizenship volunteering, idealistic volunteering, social volunteering, developmental volunteering, altruistic volunteering, and individual development volunteering were the most important indicators of promoting voluntary work in sports with a social capital approach, which were implemented in 35 practical factors. Therefore, there is a need to employ indicators and factors related to volunteering.
