Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the development of sports startups related to physical activity and health. This research was an exploratory research and in terms of how to collect information and data is field and descriptive-survey. The statistical population of this research in the qualitative part included experts, professors of sports management, experienced students in sports businesses and startups, and owners of sports businesses. Participants were purposefully selected. According to the objectives of the research and the achievement of theoretical saturation, 22 people were present in the research process. Also, the statistical population in the quantitative part were all professors and students of sports management in Tehran universities from which 126 people were selected as the statistical sample of the study.The interviews were completely recorded and transcribed; The researcher then reviewed the interviews one by one and coded them. The results of coding the interviews showed that the effective factors in the development of sports startups include 7 components: personal characteristics of the founder, facilities and amenities, branding and the innovative nature of the startup, economic, cultural, and managerial factors. Due to the limited studies that have been done in the field of startups related to physical activity in the country, the results of the present study help sports startups to use the identified factors to lead to success and promotion, as well as to remain competitive. To provide and pave the way for the growth and development of more and more sports startups.
