Abstract

Sports activities should be encouraged due to healthy life. The purpose of present study was to Surveying and prioritizes the disinterest causes of teachers towards sports activities in Mazandaran province focused on personal factors and situational factors  and too, surveying relation of demographic variations to disinterest causes of teacher . It was a survey done through field study. Population composed of teachers employed in Mazandaran province (41783) that the sample was 750 teachers. Instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire that stratified cluster sampling. Data analysis was done by Pearson Correlation, Spearman Correlation, and Friedman test. Results showed that personal factors(r=0.652, P<0.01) and situational factors (rho=0.723, P<0.01) were related significantly and positively to disinterest towards sports activities. There was significant difference between personal factors and situational factors in disinterest towards sports activities (χ2 (df=1) = 983.668, P<0.01). The priority was referred to the situational factors (MR=2.11), and followed by the personal factors (MR=1.67). Too, in the demographic variations age and gender were related by disinterest causes of teachers. By priority  appealing effect of the characteristics of an activity on individuals (situational factors) on the psycho-logical disposition in preference of an activity or an action (personal factors) suggests that to sport managers should consider  to decrease the Situational Factors to develop sport between teachers.
