Abstract

One of the basic assignments in sport federations, is evaluating the elite coaches, because any continued cooperation with them is due to these results. The present study was conducted with propose of exploratory study of Iranian Elite Sport Coach Evaluation Criteria. This study was conducted on two qualitative and quantitative sections and with calibration method. In qualitative section, with literature review and interview with experts the effective variables were identified. Also In the quantitative section, a Questionnaire consists of 35 components & .974 for reliability was prepared (P< 0/01).  For collecting the data, were asked 450 people as professors, and elite Athletes, Elite Coaches, and Managers with high Experience in Athletics Sport, and Experts that were active in first and second ranked federations. Due to this, 407 questionnaires were completed. After collecting the data, exploratory modeling of Iranian Elite Sport Coach Evaluation Criteria has been made. Results due to this study, there were 5 factors that have the most important at the Iranian Elite Sport Coach Evaluation Criteria. The 5 factors were Technical Skills, Practical Skills, Special Skills, Leadership Skills, and Communications Skills. Goodness’s of Fitness of the model have been accepted & then the model has accepted. In these situations Technical Skills, Practical Skills are the most consideration factors to evaluate the elite coaches. Then order Special Skills, Leadership Skills, and Communications Skills are the factors that have been noticed to evaluate. At the Technical Skills, coach’s skills in choose the best tactics, and at the practical skills, their planning is the most important for evaluating the elite coaches.  Also the most important factors & variables have been identified to present for managers. The variables & loading of each to introduce each factor have been identified. In today's competitive and professional management, that is necessary to use a systematic and scientific tool for evaluation and assessment the employees and especially elite national coaches. In this tool, is required to have regarded on operating variables load and the coaches roles and responsibilities.  Also with regard to research and literature reviews that communication skills and leadership and success coaches in the management teams shall play an important role, managing federations need for attention to this.
